address 0x08 in the PIC microcontroller on the Pytrack/sense so it is supposed to be there. When I tested this out on a LoPy4 with the latest firmware and a Pytrack with the latest firmware it worked fine the first time. So are you completely unable to talk to the PIC without errors?

Found the issue. It was actually caused by gc.collect() run time going from 6mS to 48mS. This was being run inside a timer tic ISR (I know, that's a no-no). The ISR was taking longer to run than the timer tic period. I assume the UART Int is a lower priority than the timer so it was never being processed. Is gc.collect() taking so long because of the extra memory or is this a bug?

i'm having a dou't wether we can use lopy4 as a access point or are we able to use this as a wifi hub that may be join to computer after which can it be used as a usb dongle.

Thanks @daniel and @robert-hh and thank you for the offer of support and potential of modifying code base. I decided to use a PCA8575 16 bit I2C I/O expander as it solved the I/O problem without adding too much to the bill of materials, so I left the SPI pins for the Lora/Sigfox radio not connected.

@eric24 That is the plan, although it might not come on the first firmware releases. Since LoRa/LoRaWAN (Class A) or Sigfox don't really have a "connection", they just send uplinks or wait to receive for very well determined periods it should certainly be possible to send for example one packet over LoRa and switch to Sigfox for the next one and so on.
