@theshade Pycom INC is closed. And whoever purchased the assets did not buy the debts or responsibilities. Personally I'm upset that not even the technical documentation of their boards was published as a small feedback for the community.

I am facing a challenge when attempting to decompress data compressed using the miniz library on the ESP32 platform. My objective is to compress data using miniz library in flasher_stub compoment of esp-idf and then decompress the data on the cloud side using some python script that can be compatible with miniz decompression style like zlib. As per the documentation and information available, the miniz library is described as a "lossless, high-performance data compression library" that implements the zlib (RFC 1950) and Deflate (RFC 1951) compressed data format specification standards. However, I am encountering difficulties when attempting to decompress the compressed data using Python. Specifically, when using the Python zlib module, which should be compatible with the zlib and Deflate formats, I am receiving an "unknown compression method" error. I have verified that the file and data are correct, and they were compressed using the miniz library on the ESP32. Despite this, I am unable to successfully decompress the data. I would greatly appreciate any help or any insights that you can provide regarding how to properly decompress data that has been compressed with the miniz library using Python.

@Julia-Steiwer As you should have noticed, Pycom Inc ceased it's operation, and there is no service any more for Pycom products, be it hardware or software like Pymakr. The latter should still work with the older VSCode versions. So if you want to use PyMakr, you have to stick with an working combo of an older VSCode version and PyMakr.

@Kalle-Misto Pymakr is not supported any more. It might help to fall back to a previous version of Vscode and keep it.

Hi, I think I'm doing everything correctly and following Roberto's tutorial to a T. I am getting errors when I try both reading and writing virtual pins. I am using a wipy 2.0 running firmware 1.18.2.r4 Here Is my process: set up pymate safe boot device, download files. edit pymate_basic.py in lib with code under "# Initialize Virtual Pins and Terminal Pins Here" restart, add widgets to app, and it always returns errors. @jcaron In my view PyGo is what they call a "dead horse". No further investment justified. So maybe they will at least publish documentation and tools for the community to carry on on support.

@Miguel-Moreno I appreciate your response and it's funny but I have reached the same conclusion regarding pygates. One troubling issue is that unless I misread some posts you cannot flash micropython firmware onto these boards? What method are you using to get your boards into service?

So, finally made my own cradle to charge my pair of Pygo1. Is a lasercut box,, 6 pogo test pins and a USB/uart adaptor. I was able to reflash them and after attempting to charge them using the wireless charger have resorted to using the makeshift cradle. The Pylife app can see the devices but neither has more than 3% battery being reported. I can't set the LoRa frequency in the app. Giving these time to charge in the makeshift cradle then see how to proceed. Regards Andrew

I don't use Helium or TTN, but a quick look at their decoder library suggests you may be able to use a straight drop in replacement. Depends on whether you're using TTN V2 or V3. Helium decoder structure appears to be exactly the same as V2.

@Anders-H Interfacing things with different voltages is very common in microcontroller projects and there are many tutorials in the internet. Just google "voltage divider" for higher voltages at input pins and "output driver" for higher voltages at output pins.

Hi, This is indeed not directly built into the micropython firmware. You could implement it in C using the ESP-IDF, but we cannot give you in-depth support for that. There do exist some examples over on the espressif esp-idf repository on github that you can look at

@jcaron Yes, I believe that is the problem. Well, the problem is my reading comphrension level. The page which links to the second page above lands the reader at the wifi part. i scrolled up to the part on Network.LoRa. I believe that by scrolling up to top of page its showing how you setup an end device. My bad. My mistake.

@Gijs Hi, sorry for being tardy with my reply. I have finally sorted out the problem. It was due to the enabled frame counter reset blocking in the settings of the end devices. The frame counter reset blocking can be disabled under general settings/network layer/ advanced mac settings under the end device console. By the way, can you please confirm if the following network layer settings are correct for FiPy? LoRaWAN version: MAC V1.0.2 Regional Parameter version: PHY V1.0.2 REV A I have unfortunately not been able to get ADR to work on The Things Stack under the AS923 Frequency Plan. I believe it could be due to the wrong regional parameter version. Can you please kindly help me confirm with a simple test by bumping some data packets to a gateway connected to The Things Stack on your end to check if the ADR is working? In my own test using the Things Stack, I also noticed that the AdrACKCounter is incremented by 1 only after 7 transmissions instead of after every transmission when we did the test in the Things Network.
