@Gijs Awesome -- thanks for confirming. In order -- I checked https://docs.pycom.io/tutorials/pygate/ first https://docs.pycom.io/datasheets/boards/pygate/ https://docs.pycom.io/gitbook/assets/specsheets/Pycom_002_Specsheets_Pygate_v1.pdf Perhaps a adding a note in the blue box on https://docs.pycom.io/tutorials/pygate/ when LoPy4 is mentioned makes sense?

@Gijs said in I flashed old firmware to Pysense 2.0 boards: Did you insert the Lopy4 correctly? There is virtually nothing in the signal path between the USB connector and the Vin pin that can block the voltage. Other than a direct short ofcourse. Do you have loose metal bits laying around your workbench maybe? I solved problem with a very thin copper wire, now working fine, Thanks

@suyash93 what region/country are you in? That dictates rules such as duty cycles, dwell times and so on, which in turn has a big influence over whether retransmissions are possible or not. Another factor that comes into play if you are in a region with low airtime limits is the data rate/spread factor, but it’s probably difficult to estimate in advance whether you’ll be able to use the faster data rates (which mean less air time per transmission and thus less problems with retransmits) or if you have to use the slower ones (which have in theory better range, but the very long air time means hitting the limits quickly). How far apart are the nodes? Do they have like of sight to each other? What kind of antenna are you planning to use? Are the nodes elevated above ground? Also, in a mesh scenario, some nodes will have not only their own data but also their “children’s” data to send, which can quickly multiply. Note that in some regions such as EU868, if you have to go down to SF12 (the slowest data rate), even just sending every 5 minutes without retransmits may quickly become an issue. As far the reliability of PyMesh, I haven’t used it myself, others may have more to say.

Hi @robert-hh, hi @jcaron , thanks for your replies. Sorry, I meant an PoE Splitter, which works fine and PoE supply direct from the switch did not work. I received my PyGate 2 weeks ago (shipped 30.06.) or so with one year delay. I don't know if this is an early version or not. I'll check this. ...5 minutes later.... Yes, I'm affected from this bug. Unbelievable. I thought the problem was my Netgear switch. What I don't understand is that Pycom did not inform people who ordered the PyGate with PoE.... I'll try to swap D2. ...5 minutes later... Ok, my PoE Adapter is working as expected. I cut all pins from the RJ45 connector to avoid shortcuts. Hopefully the PyGate Enclosure will arrive soon. Thanks for your quick help. Best regards Peter

@Elizar That#s a good hint. There is also a PR #362 outstanding since Nov. 2019 for UART inverted mode, which supports that in a more API consistent fashion. And that PR is compatible to the mainstream MicroPython.

@robert-hh I tried using a pull-up resistor, however, after doing so I lose signal from my other gas sensor. I have already found the problem. The SCD30 likes to operate at a baudrate of 50.000 (as recommended in their documentation) instead of the 400.000 i was using. https://www.sensirion.com/fileadmin/user_upload/customers/sensirion/Dokumente/9.5_CO2/Sensirion_CO2_Sensors_SCD30_Interface_Description.pdf Thanks for all the help!

Actually this is a better fix, the previous fix left the Speaker pin High and using power, this leaves it Low. def Tone(Speaker, Frequency, Duration): pwm = PWM(0, frequency = Frequency) pwm = pwm.channel(0, pin=Speaker, duty_cycle = 0.5) sleep_ms(Duration) i = Pin(Speaker, mode=Pin.IN) I seem to be talking to myself a lot !!?? Anyone else around?

@robert-hh Thanks again! I just checked the expansion board page, looks like it has actually ver 3.1. Just placed an order on the LoPy4 with the ex-board. Can't wait :)

I should probably clarify what I am trying to do a bit better: I am trying to use the code that constantinos and Clemens posted earlier, just to try to get a version that will receive packets from the feather in the first place. I looked through the forum for other posts and have tried tinkering with the different settings to no avail. Forgive me for any mistakes I am making, as I am new to this and trying to figure it out! Again, I would greatly appreciate any help I can get!

I did some measurements of power consumption a few months ago, when i started working with a FiPy + Pysense board. Back then i could measure around 7.5 mA in Lightsleep mode, when disabling all antennae and such. Since then i haven't been measuring current. But my current program that i have running on the Fipy consumes (with all connections / antennas disabled) around 35 mA, when i did a measurement today. This is due to having the SD card inserted (not mounted) as far as i can see, because when i remove the SD card i measure 7.5 mA again... Can this really be correct? It's much more than what is described in this thread, has anyone gotten similar results? In an older thread, @jmarcelino wrote that simply inserting SD card uses 5 mA, but that's still nowhere near what i am seeing! https://forum.pycom.io/topic/3097/power-consumption-issue Edit: I think i have a broken FiPy, since the same code on another FiPy measures around 7.5 mA, which is what i expected. I also tried the one i suspect to have a fault on another Pysense board, but it still measured 35 mA in Lightsleep, also after flashing..

@jcaron said in Lipo Connectors: ... Always check that the polarity if any new battery or device you use matches that of the device or battery you connect it to. Some devices have reverse polarity protections, others don’t. It is very important to check the battery cable polarity. I missed this checking once and fried a new Expansion Board 3.1 connected to USB power, even the USB port of my notebook was damaged.

@drl provided a workaround - https://forum.pycom.io/topic/662/wipy-2-0-expansion-board-2-0-sd-card-and-uart1/2 Initialise the UART before mounting the SD card. Works for me.

@aen I understand that the people are good and also that my original question was not specific enough. But what i'm looking for is a testing software for radios etc. This kind of testing software is requested by testing/certifying company since we are using L01 OEM in our board. Off course I can always write that kind of software myself, but if there would be one existing that would be better.
