    @paul-thornton said in How to send/receive LORAWAN MAC Commands?: https://docs.pycom.io/firmwareapi/pycom/network/lora.html#lorastats I'm not sure whether lora.stats() rx_timestamp is of use, it does not seem to represent a time value, but if it does, how do I convert it? [LORA ] 2019/02/21 04:51:55 (rx_timestamp=0, rssi=0, snr=0.0, sfrx=0, sftx=0, tx_trials=0, tx_power=14, tx_time_on_air=0, tx_counter=0, tx_frequency=0) [LORA ] 2019/02/21 04:52:04 (rx_timestamp=30539834, rssi=-45, snr=7.0, sfrx=3, sftx=5, tx_trials=1, tx_power=0, tx_time_on_air=57, tx_counter=0, tx_frequency=0) [LORA ] 2019/02/21 04:52:11 (rx_timestamp=38155453, rssi=-38, snr=8.0, sfrx=3, sftx=5, tx_trials=1, tx_power=0, tx_time_on_air=47, tx_counter=1, tx_frequency=0) [LORA ] 2019/02/21 09:04:47 (rx_timestamp=45778581, rssi=-43, snr=8.0, sfrx=3, sftx=5, tx_trials=1, tx_power=0, tx_time_on_air=47, tx_counter=2, tx_frequency=0) [LORA ] 2019/02/21 09:15:32 (rx_timestamp=690412324, rssi=-47, snr=6.0, sfrx=5, sftx=5, tx_trials=2, tx_power=0, tx_time_on_air=57, tx_counter=4, tx_frequency=0) [LORA ] 2019/02/21 09:15:38 (rx_timestamp=696682500, rssi=-48, snr=6.0, sfrx=5, sftx=5, tx_trials=1, tx_power=0, tx_time_on_air=57, tx_counter=5, tx_frequency=0) [LORA ] 2019/02/21 09:15:44 (rx_timestamp=702935506, rssi=-47, snr=6.0, sfrx=5, sftx=5, tx_trials=1, tx_power=0, tx_time_on_air=57, tx_counter=6, tx_frequency=0)

    Woo Hoo!! 🙏🏼💃🏽💥🎉🎉 Thanks, I guess I assumed that the expansion board was just the drivers for an onboard serial port. Next time, I'll look at the schematics as well, since the WiPy docs said that there wasn't any driver needed for use. It's all working, now I can geek out having combined my two favorite worlds... embedded systems and Python!

    @capnahab The Expansion Board 3.0 is already shipped with the latest firmware. The one posted on https://docs.pycom.io/chapter/pytrackpysense/installation/firmware.html is for reference only and identical to the one already flashed at the factory.

    @sukandar Thanks a lot. It seems the serial communication is working. Can you please try the following two commands next: cd "/Applications/Pycom Firmware Update.app/Contents/MacOS" "Pycom Firmware Update" -v This will open the firmware updater (please follow the same steps as before) but during the update it should print some text in the terminal window. Please send the output in the terminal window along with the wireless Mac address from the previous command and a link to this forum post to support@pycom.io Thanks a lot.

    The MAC address printed on your beacons is just a nicely formatted version in hexadecimal of the 6 byte address. What you get from Python are the actual 6 bytes themselves (hence the b' at the start) and when you print them they get turned into the correspond ASCII characters for that value (or \xYY if it's not a printable character) You can use the binascii.hexlify function to turn each of those bytes into hexadecimal and make a string which is closer to what you have. For example your b'FS\xbd\x8c\xd2\x11' >>> import binascii >>> binascii.hexlify(b'FS\xbd\x8c\xd2\x11') b'4653bd8cd211' So this address is 46:53:bd:8c:d2:11 Of course you can split into pairs, add the colons and make all letters uppercase too using standard string manipulation.

    @lollisoft Use Atom - the Pymakr standalone is deprecated. Make sure, before installing Atom, that you upgrade Node JS to latest stable release (if you're on older release you'll run in to some issues when installing the Pymakr plugin in Atom). Installing Node JS using homebrew - incase you don't have node installed Upgrading Node JS If you've not used Atom or Pymakr plugin before, see these docs first.

    @jmarcelino Thanks Will check Homebrew info you provided out. Worked out of box on a Linux box that one of the dev's uses and he owns that project for now so the heat is off for a while ;)
