@mj I had some problem with atom to and the plugin pymakr... I did uninstall atom and remove all packed from c:\user\atom then I install atom again 1.24 then I remove the auto update and after that I run cmd: and apm install pymakr@1.2.7 so it did install that version and it works perfect now :) Im happy... I would say that works perfect right now... No error or so! :)

@jmarcelino In the board, I have a custom code running, and it shows what it should on the console, but whenever I try to upload a project, it fails. It had worked until I updated the plugin to the last version.

Have you tried using something other than pymakr? maybe screen or minicom. Also its worth checking if your user has permissions for the serial port. The procedure to do this varies by linux distro but on most you can add your user to the dialout group and when you reboot that user will have permissions to use serial ports sudo usermod -a -G dialout $USER

Hi, It looks like you are using PlatformIO, this is not something we currently support. Pymakr is a standalone plugin for atom and does not interact with platformIO in any way. To create a pymakr project, just create a empty folder on your computer and open it with atom. You can then add project settings via the settings menu in the Pymakr panel and create a main.py file.

@goldfishalpha No, I just moved the txt-files outside the project folder. That is good enough for me. Johan

I have not had too many issues with the PyMakr plugin for atom. But I can understand if you do not like that setup. At least with more recent version of the plugin (November is the last I used it heavily), I did not have problems. What I remember annoying me the most was not being able to copy from the REPL. rshell is also a good option when you have a physical serial connection https://github.com/dhylands/rshell

OK now works! I changed the device address in the global settings to the correct Com port and rebooted Atom and it picked it up fine. Thanks again, @seb, rather strange this has only just started to happen!

@soren OK, So despite the no project, I tried uploading and it behaves really strange. It says "Connected" above the console despite the console saying "Connecting on COM4..." at the same time.. how does that make any sense? Here's a snippet of my log: Uploading project (main folder)... Reading file status Failed to connect (Error: Writing to COM port (GetOverlappedResult): Operation aborted). Click here to try again. Failed to read project status, uploading all files [1/5] Writing file boot.py Connecting on COM4... ** and here it will stay forever, while at the same time displaying "Connected".....

For who wants to try, there is a fix for this issue on the develop branch now. See my last comment in https://github.com/pycom/pymakr-atom/issues/1#issuecomment-324798001

@reefat as documented here: https://docs.pycom.io/chapter/toolsandfeatures/FTP.html There's a limit of 1 simultaneous connection, so you might have to tweak a few settings in Cyberduck or other FTP client. The described settings in FileZilla work very well.

@livius Update completed, issue still happening. I think I will do what you are doing. I also tried to install atom in my Linux PC (Debian wheezy), though it did not work, not so sure if it is because .deb is for Ubuntu, although it is a debian under the hood. Cheers Colombian1976

Hi @adrien3d, Could you please try following the instructions at the bottom of this page, https://atom.io/packages/pymakr? It looks like you're having issues with the serial port module! Let me know if this helps, Alex
